Four cities have been removed from a drinking water advisory that has affected nine southwest Iowa counties for the last 11 days.

The advisory was also lifted for the cities of Afton, Lenox and Diagonal as of 1:45 p.m. Monday.

The advisory remains in effect for those in the rural areas surrounding Creston and in several other counties, which are served through SIRWA from the processing plant at Creston Water Works.
