More than two weeks after several Iowa counties were placed under a water-boil advisory, all affected cities have access to clean water.
The Southern Iowa Rural Water Association posted on its website Saturday that the advisory had been lifted for all of their customers. The drinking water warning was placed June 1 after the 12-Mile Treatment Plant at Creston Water Works had a failure in its filtering system. The pricey membrane filtration system should have lasted another year or two.
The SIRWA board of directors still have to decide whether customers will receive a reduced water bill for the time they were under the advisory.
