Scottsbluff Star-Herald :
Facing a possible million dollar cost overrun on its water project, Terrytown council members heard about a possible solution — eliminating the city’s water tower. The complete overhaul of Terrytown’s water system was divided into four phases. The first has been completed: connecting the city’s water system to Gering to provide them with water. The second and third phases were bid recently. That work would replace some major water mains in neighboring unincorporated Bellevue and Terrytown proper. The third phase would connect all commercial and residential buildings to a water metering system.Phase four, which wasn’t scheduled until 2020, would have rehabilitated the city’s water tower along Five Rocks Road.Terrytown had asked for bids for phases two and three of the construction work and only received one bid for each phase.
