The North Platte Telegraph :

North Platte water has won first place for the second year in a row.

Water from all over the state was brought to the American Water Works Association conference in Kearney and was judged on appearance and taste.

“We have really good water,” said Chris Holley, city water protection specialist.

The 2018 water quality report for North Platte came out on Tuesday. As further evidence of the its quality, it showed “no violations” of Nebraska Safe Drinking Water Act in the calendar year.

Holley plans to send water samples to the national AWWA conference in Denver in June, hoping to take top honors there, too.

The system used is a big reason the water tastes good, according to Holley.

“We don’t treat. We don’t chlorinate,” Holley said. “We have a really good system.”
