Projects are moving forward to collect more detailed groundwater aquifer data in northern Buffalo County and study drought management options in the Lower Loup Natural Resources District.Both issues were on the agenda for Thursday’s LLNRD Board meeting in Ord. General Manager Russ Callan told the Hub this morning that the district will seek a grant from the Nebraska Water Sustainability Fund for the project to collect groundwater data with an Airborne Electromagnetic study.AEM surveys are done with helicopters and can provide information about such factors as aquifer geometry, saturated thickness and recharge zones to use in building 3-D maps.
