The Cornhusker State Games triathlon events will be held as planned after Holmes Lake was cleared of a health alert on Thursday, said Dave Mlnarik, executive director of the Nebraska Sports Council.
The alert had been in place since July 13 after toxic blue-green algae was found in the water.
But after tests taken two consecutive weeks found no presence of microcystin, a toxin released by strains of blue-green algae, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services lifted the alert.
The lake can now be used normally, Mlnarik said.
