CNPPID not raising irrigation rates

December 11, 2018

The North Platte Telegraph :

Irrigation customers of Central Public Power and Irrigation District will pay the same next year for their water as they did in 2018.

The CNPPID board of directors voted Monday to keep the rate for a base allotment of 9 inches per acre at $34.61. Each additional inch will continue to cost $1.21.

Some producers are leasing water to CNPPID for the 2019 water leasing program. A total of 3,000 acres will be accepted for water leases, and irrigation division manager Dave Ford said approximately 2,400 acres have been enrolled so far. He also said water is being pumped into the Funk Lagoon Waterfowl Production Area northeast of Holdrege for habitat improvement and recharge, and into Elwood Reservoir for recharge.
