On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, President Donald Trump signed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (the “Act”) into law. The Act contains significant new obligations for most employers—both private and public. This article provides a brief overview of two subtitles within the new Act: the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act and the Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act.
On March 20th more than 200 people attended a complimentary webinar Rembolt Ludtke LLP sponsored that provided more in-depth analysis of the requirements of the Act and answered common employer questions. If you were unable to attend, a recording of the webinar may be accessed here https://remboltlawfirm.com/first-friday-webinar then click on “View Past Webinars”
